Whatsoever things are TRUE

The word translated as true here is the Greek word ALETHES (pronounced a LAY thace). Strong’s Concordance lists the biblical usage of the word G227 means true, loving the truth, speaking the truth, and truthful.

Our contemporary definition and synonyms of true are:

definition: loyal or faithful.
synonyms: loyal · faithful · truehearted · devoted · dedicated · staunch · constant · unswerving · unwavering · trustworthy · trusty · reliable · dependable · firm · steady · dutiful · supportive
archaic definition: honest.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This world system is not the truth

Most things around us that we have always thought were true or real are now being shown to be false, temporal, make believe. The only real, truth in our lives is the Lord Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach – the only begotten Son of the Almighty God.

Things we have always relied on in our lives are quickly turning to vapor. Maybe you lost your job and your savings are dwindling. Maybe your school is closed. You can’t even go to church or synagogue. Getting together with friends for lunch or dinner has become a thing of the past. You can’t visit family in the hospital or the care home. Did you ever think that would happen? Isolation is the way of life now.

Think on what is TRUE

The TRUTH is, Jesus/Yeshua hasn’t gone away! In fact, he said he would never leave us of forsake us AND he is coming back for us. Prayer hasn’t gone away either. You can speak to Him anywhere, any time. You can pray audibly, through tears, or silently.

Keep your mind on your Savior and your Heavenly Father – they are true, they are truth. Think on the Word of God. His Word is True. Yeshua is the Word. Store it up in your heart.

Remember, He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother and He laid His life down for you.

Scriptures about true, truth, and truthful

Psalm 19:9 (NKJV) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Jeremiah 10:10 (NKJV) But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

John 3:33 (NKJV) He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.

John 8:14 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to let go of this temporal world system. To let go of the things that I think are so important to me and fix my gaze and heart on You. You sent your Son to be our redeemer to make a way for all of humanity to be brought near to You. Your Son, Jesus/Yeshua, is the way, the truth and the life.  Man is nothing without You. I choose today to repent – to turn my back on my way of life, my way of doing things, my desires and I choose to follow in Jesus/Yeshua’s footsteps that lead directly to You. I choose to not fear what is coming or what man will do to me. Heavenly Father, You are the only thing I want, Yeshua is that pearl of great price. Help me when I struggle and am weak to keep my eyes on the prize and to keep moving forward into your arms.
