Purity as a way of life
Many of the synonyms listed above make me think of Yeshua, our Passover lamb – the One that takes away the sins of the world. He was worthy, innocent, blameless, sinless, spotless, unblemished.
As we see in the passage from 1 Peter below, when we live a pure, chaste, upstanding life, not only does our Heavenly Father see our behavior, but others observe and see that as a witness.
What behaviors do we portray in our daily lives that are less than pure? What message are we giving when we speak unclean things while wearing a cross around our neck? Or when we cut someone off in traffic only to display that fish on the back bumper of our car?
Scriptures related to Purity
1 Peter 3:1-2 (AMP) Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation (behavior, way of life) coupled with fear.
2 Corinthians 11:2 (NKJV) For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to alter my thoughts so that my behavior is pure before You and those around me. So that I may be a suitable witness in my actions before my friends, family and strangers.
Amen
