VOW: Trust GOD – Psalm 118:8-9

Verse of the Week:

It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in rulers.

Psalm 118:8-9

Oh, don’t we need this admonition more now than ever! We may feel like we are losing control. Like we are being sold out or lied to. We may feel like there is no hope and feel like giving up.

But wait!

WHO is your trust or faith in?

Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4

I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 & Deuteronomy 31:6

I have overcome the world. John 16:33

I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, and give you a future. Jeramiah 29:11

Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but I will trust in the LORD. Psalms 20:7

I could go on and on, but you get the point. We are to Fear NOT, because we can say I know in whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep what I have committed to him against that day. 2 Timothy 1:12

Remember Elijah the prophet? He got so discouraged because Jezebel wanted to kill him that he ran out into the wilderness and cried out to God. God took care of him and fed him via the raven delivery service. Nothing is impossible with our Heavenly Father. 1 Kings 19

Hold onto that. He’s got this. We just need to pray and put our faith and trust in him that He will do it.

We may not know what our temporary destiny is, it may not look like what we expect or want, but we do know our eternal destiny if we turn and trust him.

Live it out this week

Here’s your challenge this week: read the verses above each day. Commit to bringing every negative and doubting thought into captivity to the Word of God. If you don’t already have these verses committed to memory, work on that this week. Then meditate on them by speaking them out loud, under your breath, in your mind. Trust Him!

It might help if you sing the song you learned as a child in Sunday School – He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands – cuz He does!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for all Your blessings and help me to keep my eyes on You. I might not understand what is going on right now, but I have committed to following You and I trust You know where we are going. When doubts come in and try to overtake my mind, remind me look to You and meditate on the Word I have hidden in my heart. In Yeshua’s/Jesus’ name Amen!
