VOW: Praise the Lord

Verse of the Week

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
Psalm 113:3 ESV

“The early morning hour should be dedicated to praise: do not the birds set us the example?”

~ Charles Spurgeon

The Psalmist also says in the Psalm 34 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

What’s in our mouths most of the time? Is it praise for the LORD, or complaints?

Let’s take a cue from our feathered friends, and start the day with songs of praise to our Awesome God. Every time you hear a birdie sing, let it be a reminder to lift your voice in praise to the King.

Live out this week

If you don’t already, start each day with praise and thanksgiving to your Heavenly Father. During your morning quiet time, before you make any requests, praise and thank Him for the many blessings in your life. If you don’t know where to start, just praise and thank Him for His lovingkindness. as we are instructed in Psalm 117.

O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise Him, all ye people. For His merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117 KJV

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the love and grace You have bestowed on me. Amen.
