VOW: Planned, Purposed, Promised

Verses of the Week

“…I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ …I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.
Isaiah 46:9b-10, 11b ESV

“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.”
Proverbs 19:21 ESV

“so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11 ESV

“No circumstance, person, or difficulty can stop the plans and the promises of God.”
David Jeremiah

Do you ever wonder if God is really seeing all the troubles and evil that seem to have gripped the whole world over the last several years? Does He see? Does He care? Why isn’t He doing something?

According to the verses above, our heavenly Father does see, He does care, and He is and will do something! It will be on His terms (not ours) and on His timetable (not ours). Our job as His children is to trust Him, submit to His will and work with Him as He gives us opportunity.

His purposes will stand—whether we cooperate or not and no matter how satan and his world system may try to stop Him.

How precious is this knowledge! Our God will not be thwarted in fulfilling all that He has planned and purposed from the beginning of time! Even when it seems like evil is prevailing around us, even when we can not perceive His hand at work around us, the Father is always at work. Therefore, no matter how dark the day, how deep the despair, how desolate the prospects, or how dire the circumstances, the Father will accomplish all His will, in His time, and in His way!

So, take heart! Because…

…we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NKJV

Live it out this week

Let this week’s verses comfort you this week. Read them and meditate on them daily. Memorize them so that you can bring them to mind whenever you need to be reminded that God will prevail and fulfill His plans, promises and purposes—in the world and in your life.

Thank You, Father, that You alone are God! Your words are true and You can be trusted to fulfill what You have planned, purposed, and promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
