On Faith

This saying by Oswald Chambers conjures an image in my mind of a blind man holding on to the arm of his guide and confidently crossing a busy street. In order for him to walk without fear, he must trust his guide. He must believe that his guide will keep him safe and lead him to the appropriate destination. The blind man must know who is leading him in order to be relaxed and confident even though he cannot see the way he takes.

Chambers was, of course, speaking of spiritual faith in God, the Father. For us to confidently walk wherever He leads us, we must know Him well, trust Him thoroughly, and love Him completely.

How do we come to know Him intimately? Through His Word and through belief in His Son, Jesus.
